Allie "Lorraine" Krum, 80, was called home to be with the Lord and reunited with the love of her life on Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14, 2014. She was a very loving and giving person who never met a stranger and whose Faith in the Lord was something that everyone saw in her smiles and laughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview with Pastor Kip McCarty of New Beginnings Worship Center in Kamay, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughn Crestview.
Lorraine was born April 24, 1933 in Goose Greek, Texas to the late Earl James and Etta Ellen (Rusk) Blanton. She graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1951.
On August 4, 1953, Lorraine married the love of her life, Phil Krum in Houston, Texas. To this union 4 children were born.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Mrs. Baird's Bread in Fort Worth, Texas where she worked along side of Mrs. Baird. After marrying Phil, Lorraine began her life as a very proud Military wife. She was involved in VFW Women's Auxiliary. She traveled the world living in Germany two different times, Minnesota, Washington State and Texas. On her first move to Germany, Lorraine and her only son, Phil Jr., at the time traveled by ship across the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of Phil's Military career, they returned to White Settlement, Texas where they bought their first home. Shortly after Phil's Military retirement, Phil's civilian job transferred them to Wichita Falls, Texas and they then made their home in Iowa Park, Texas. Lorraine began working at KFDX Channel 3 where she was an accountant for 15 years before retiring in 1994. Lorraine was a member of the Red River Optimist Club for several years and she loved helping the young children in her community. She enjoyed her retirement spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 2008, Lorraine moved to Temple Oklahoma to live with her daughter as she began her journey with Brest Cancer. At the time of her death, Lorraine was a 6 year Cancer Survivor. In 2012, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where she remained living at home at the time of her death.
Lorraine was a member of The New Beginnings Worship Center in Kamay, Texas where she was the music director for several years. She loved to sing to Praise the Lord and share the word of God through her beautiful voice.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Phil, of 48 years in 2002. Her parents, Earl & Etta Blanton, 2 brothers, Jesse Earl and James Lawrence Blanton, one sister, Jimmie Land, grandson, Joshua Smith.
Survivors include sons, Phil Jr. of Mountain Springs, Texas and Kenneth(Bealinda) of Longview, Texas; daughters, Vicki Morgan(Steve)of Friendswood, Texas and Connie Davis(Richard) of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Sondra Smith(Rod) of Petrolia, Texas, 8 grandchildren, ; 10 great-grandchildren;
