Jerry C. Wells, 67 of Jesup, Ga. died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness. The Jeff Davis County, Ga. native had lived in Wayne County most of his life and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was a retired roofer with Wells Roofing Company. Fishing and hunting were favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed camping and boating at the coast.

He was predeceased by his brother and his wife, Billy and Bessie Jean Wells; a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Wells.

Survivors are his wife of 31 years, Elaine Dillo Wells of Jesup, Ga.; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Sloan, Pat and Frank Mathis, Tammy Wells, all of Jesup, Ga.; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John Wells of Darien, Ga., Wayne and Deb Wells of Ohio, Hoss and Joy Wells of Springfield, Ga.; two step-sons, Chris and Alison Carter of Danielsville, Ga., Todd and Millie Carter of Jesup, Ga.; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Redeatha Wells of Odum, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
