FREMONT — Carolyn L. Comden, 67, of Zeeland, for-merly of F r e m o n t , passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at her home.

Carol y n was born on May 16, 1946 in Pontiac to Dr. Richard H. and Edith M. (Teak) Berg. Carolyn grad-uated from Central Montcalm High School in 1964 and later attended Cedarville College. After moving to Fremont, Carolyn initially worked for the Fremont Public Schools and later became a librarian at the Fremont Public Library, where she had worked for 24 years until her retirement in 2011. Carolyn was a member of the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church where she served as a lay minister. She taught adult Sunday school classes for 40 years and served on the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church and Fremont Wesleyan Church Boards of Administration. Carolyn enjoyed reading, playing the piano, watching NASCAR, and cheering for her grand-children at their sporting events. She also was a volun-teer with the special education programs at the Fremont Public Schools. The family wishes to thank Spectrum Health Hospice staff for all of their wonderful care and sup-port, especially Christie, Janelle, Dawn and Pastor Bill.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lisa Marie Comden, in 1972.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Dayton Center Wesleyan Church in Fremont with Pastor Terry Hansen pre-siding with interment in the Entrican Cemetery near Stanton.
