The following article was published in the Lockport Union Sun and Journal on Thursday June 7, 1934:

Joseph H. Bailey, Former Executive Of Circuses, Dies.

Joseph Henry Bailey, 86 of New York City, died Tuesday at the home of his son, Harry S. Bailey, 146 Hartwell road, Buffalo. He was the founder and for over fifty years president of the "Seven Sutherland Sisters" corporation whose preparations for the hair are known all over the world.
He was born In Wilmington, Delaware. His early years were spent in an executive capacity with the Barnum and Bailey, Barton and Bailey, and Sells-Floto circuses.
In 1883 he married Naomi Sutherland, one of the Sutherland sisters.
He spent all his life in New York City until his health began to fail, and then he came to Buffalo to make his home with his son, who, with his two sisters-in- law, Grace and Mary Sutherland are his only surviving relatives.
Mr. Bailey will be buried in the family mausoleum in Lockport Glenwood Cemetery Saturday afternoon at 2 30 o'clock."

NOTE: Although the newspaper article states that Mr. Bailey's remains were to be buried in the family mausoleum, Glenwood Cemetery records indicate that he was buried (in the ground) at Section 16, Lot 12, Grave 8 on June 9, 1934.
His unmarked grave is a few feet to the right of the Castlemaine mausoleum, and immediately to the left of the Harry Sutherland Bailey grave.
