Mrs. Toot had suffered a slight stroke of paralysis three years ago, but had recovered very effectually from the attack, and announcement of her sudden death comes as a shock to her many friends.
Mrs. Toot was born in Lordstown in February 25, 1846, and spent her early life there.
On February 18, 1869, she was united in marriage to John M. Toot, and their marriage life was an unusually happy one. On February 18 of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Toot celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary, and received felicitations from a host of relatives and friends.
In her early life Mrs. Toot united with the Lutheran church and was an earnest, consistent member and a devoted Christian woman. A year ago she transferred her membership to the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Warren. Her family suffer a deep loss in her death.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Sarah M. (Frank) Sonk of Hartford, Mrs. Mary Alice (Wallace)Lynn of Warren, three sons, Charles Dallas (Clara) Toot, John Curtis (Minnie) Toot of Warren, Oliver W. Toot, who lives with his parents; a brother, Rev. E.R. Bailey, Arlington, OH, 23 grand children.
A daughter, Mrs. Minnie M.(Edward) Klingensmith, passed away three years ago.
A short farewell services will take place at the home on Monday at 12:30, and at 2 o'clock services will take place in the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Warren. Rev. C.L. Rush will officiate.
Burial will be made in Oakwood cemetery.
