Roberts January 6, 1923 -January 3, 2009 Funeral Services for Adair V. Roberts, age 85, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Curtis W. Schneider officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church prior to the service. He passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 at a local nursing home. Mr. Roberts was born on January 6, 1923 in Newlin, Texas to Adair M. and Verdie Kerby Roberts. He attended Robert Lee High School and then joined the U.S. Air Force where he served during WW II. On August 20, 1946 he married Helen Eisenbeck in Lampasas, Texas. He was employed as a telegraph operator for Gulf and Colorado Railroad and the Santa Fe Railroad - Slaton Division where he retired after thirty years of service. Mr. Roberts had resided at Shamrock Shores at Lake Brownwood since 1982 and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood. Survivors: Wife: Helen Roberts of Lake Brownwood, Texas Sister: Hazel Parker of San Angelo, Texas Numerous Nieces and Nephews including: Stephen Whitaker of San Angelo, Texas Danny Foster of Hewitt, Texas Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
