Frederick gives his age as 18 in 1862. Census records relect he was born in 1847. He was probably 15 or 16 when he enlisted.

Frederick never applied for a pension but his widow Ellen applied for survivor benefits March 17 1890.

Corp Wham was a drum major.

He died from an overdose of Laudanum. "An Opium tincture useful as an analgesic and antidiarrheal." Burial was March 29, delay in burial related to weather
