Aaron Heacock
LA MOTTE, Iowa - Aaron Heacock, 89, of La Motte, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home in La Motte.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at St. John Lutheran Church in St. Donatus. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again on Friday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the church.
Aaron was born on Feb. 7, 1925, in Dubuque, son of Clarence and Mamie (Nesler) Heacock. He married Arlice Wiegert on June 15, 1968.
Aaron farmed his entire life and enjoyed every minute of it. Working hard is all he knew and he instilled that work ethic into his kids. He was gentle, kind-hearted and determined. He loved his family and always enjoyed their time together. He was a great mentor and will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 45 years, Arlice; three children, Gloria, Anita and Roger Heacock, all of La Motte, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Alvin; and two sisters, Nettie Theisen and Ella Hamilton-Bainbridge.
