Sam was the s/o Mordecai Zachary and Elvira Evaline Keener Zachary.

He was married twice. One in NC before he moved to Oregon and then after coming here. the first marriage ended in the death of spouse and the 2nd in divorce.

The local cemetery reports that a J.A. Zachary with the proper death date was buried here and even has record of the plot location but no record of a stone set. On my visit to this site, I confirmed their record, there is no stone in the location indicated for his plot.
