Mr. J. Walter Baker, Sr., 83, of Maple Shade, died Monday Dec. 8, in the Cherry Hill Medical Center. The husband of the late Margaret (nee Sterner), he is survived by his children, Charles H. of West Creek, N.J.; Phyllis Stotz of Maryland; Louise Rahn of Florida; Wade of Florida; Donald of Maple Shade; and Linda McKay of Florida; as well as one sister, Eleanor Carson of Maple Shade; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Baker was a trolley car driver for PTC of Philadelphia and was a member of Mount Holly Post 2692, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Antrim-Mentz Post 66, Maple Shade American Legion.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Inglesby-Givnish Funeral Home, 602 E. Main Street, Maple Shade, with the Rev. Gustav A. Wuestefeld, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Maple Shade, Officiating. Friends are calling this evening (Thursday) at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
