Donald Edward Adams, 77, of Van Buren died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, in a Fayetteville hospital.
He was born in Alma, Arkansas to Norman and Irene (Thompson) Adams.

Donald honorably served his country in the US Army 552nd engineering company and had been deployed to West Germany and Vietnam. After the service he worked for both US Shoe Company and Allen Canning Company. What brought happiness to Don's life was his faith, family, friends and a love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, train hunting dogs, and to fish around the Ozark Mountains where he grew up. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service with military honors will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Reeder and her husband Steve of Springfield, MO; one sister, Sue Ross and her husband Earl of Van Buren, AR; three grandchildren, Christina Marie Reeder, Jennifer Nicole Reeder and Michael Stephen Reeder all of Springfield, MO and two nieces, Marla Sandlin and Karen Fuini.
