Betsey Spaulding Stocker would have been 82 years old on her next birthday. She was the wife of the late Samuel R. Stocker. She was the daughter of Zebina and Abigail (Spaulding) Spaulding. Her grandfather was John Spaulding, an officer in the Revolutionary War who fought under Gen. Stark at Bennington.

She married Samuel R. Stocker on April 13, 1845 in Hartland, Vermont. One son, Samuel F. was born there. They moved to Windsor around 1847, where her husband became prominent in mercantile and town affairs. The children born in Windsor were: Henry W., Luther W., George K., Mary L., William H., Minnie A., and Ormond S.

In October, 1897, Mrs. Stocker was the guest of her brother, S. B. Spaulding in Ohio after visiting her sons, Luther, George and Orman in Washington state where she had been visiting for a year and stopped on the return trip to Vermont.

Mary died in 1870. Minnie married L. A. Bruce. Henry W. lives in Hartford, Conn., Samuel and William live in Indiana, and Luther, George and Ormand in the state of Washington.
