She worked as a cook at Delmont Public School, Gurney's Seeds in Yankton, a ladies dress shop in Mitchell, and the Senior Citizens in Armour. Amanda was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church near Armour. She enjoyed making crafts, flowers, and playing cards. She moved to Golden Living Center in Armour on April 6, 2009 where she died on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the age of 98.
