Ronald Dean Boone, age 63, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Johnny Twitty Boone and Hazel Hudgins Boone. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in Vietnam and was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Patsy Bennett Boone of the home; sons Jeremy Boone and wife Kelly of Forest City and Joshua Boone of Boone; grandson Logan Boone of Forest City; mother Hazel Boone of Rutherfordton; brothers Norman Boone of Caroleen and Arlon Boone of Bostic. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lepera.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, February 16 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brewer and Rev. Frank Hyder officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
