On Saturday, April 8, 2006, Victoria Angelo Neal was welcomed home after 93 years and 11 days on this earth. Vickie was preceded in the hereafter by her parents, Mary Abraham and Wolford Angelo. Throughout her life, Vickie truly exemplified a servant's heart which serves as her legacy for those who knew and loved her. Her life illustrated generosity, graciousness and hospitality. Whether she interacted with customers in her business at Center Street Grocery, cooked and served meals at St. Michael's, or visited with the elderly at local nursing homes, Vicki knew the value of people, and shared her love and her compassion with them. In addition, anyone was welcome in John & Vickie's home and every meal was always a feast of Syrian cuisine, enjoyable company and complete with laughter. Special activities she participated in include serving as former president of the Ladies Aid Society of St. Michael's and the North Beaumont Lion's Club Auxiliary, and with her husband as members of the Southern Federation of Lebanese and American Club. Vickie leaves behind the love of her life and husband of 59 years, John K. Neal who retired as a Major with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in 1985. Together they epitomized an ideal marriage comprised of love, adoration, respect and fun built on faith in, and love for the Lord. Others that will greatly miss her hugs, smiling countenance and bright, cheerful attitude include numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at St. Michael's Anthiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Please join John and her loved ones on Monday evening, April 10, 2006 for a Trisagion at 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Anthiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 680 15th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.
