David Edward Bott, 76, formerly of Laurel, Mont., went to be with the Lord on Feb. 7, 2014. He was born in Rapelje, Mont., on Nov. 21, 1937, to Earnie and Lethea Bott.

David attended various elementary schools as a child. He graduated from Reedpoint High School. He worked at the Todd Ranch during and after graduating and enjoyed working with the horses. He went to college at Westmar in Iowa.

David was a school teacher in Lewistown and later joined the U.S. Army. He worked in MAP service, near the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

David enjoyed playing guitar and reading the bible. He also loved telling jokes and making people laugh.

David is survived by his brother Archie (Barbara) Bott and his sister Lois (Rodney) Fink. Also, by his many close and numerous nieces and nephews, including Jim (Dee) Bott, Beverly Zimmerman, Linda (Todd) Roller, Tammy (Frank) Zwetzig, Rowdy Fink and Sherie Fink. David was preceded in death by his parents and twin sisters.

David always loved to serve the Lord and others. He never thought twice when it came to lending a helping hand. He was the best brother, uncle and friend anyone could have ever asked for and will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 400 Seventh Ave., in Laurel, MT, on Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. A military burial will follow right after at the Mountainview Cemetery in Columbus, Mont. with a gathering to follow at the Evangelical Church in Columbus, 2 E. First Ave. N.

The family suggests memorials to be sent to the First Baptist Church of Laurel or the Evangelical Church of Columbus.
