Anna E. (Connor) Irwin was born January 26, 1876 in Missouri, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Deal) Connor. She moved from Missouri to Brookings, South Dakota as a child with her parents. From Brookings, they moved to a farm near Orient, South Dakota, where she grew to young womanhood.

She was united in marriage to David Irwin, son of Robert and Hannah (Stevens) Irwin, of Zell in 1894 and moved to a farm south of Zell. From there, they moved to Selby and later to Redfield.

She died September 3, 1954 in Missoula, Montana while on a visit to see her sons, Rex and George.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Milo and Pearl, two brothers and two sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing: five sons, James "Verne" of Doland; Howard of Duarte, California; William "Wesley" of Tacoma, Washington; George of Missoula, Montana; Reginald "Rex" of Missoula, Montana; one sister, Katheryn Kraus of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother,, William Connor of Portland, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and four great-grand children.
