Cecil Burl Brattin, age 89, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Oak Pointe of Monett.

He was born July 24, 1928 at home on a farm outside of Wheaton, the son of Elvin Burl and Erma (Ellis) Brattin.

On August 22, 1947 in Neosho, Missouri he was united in marriage to Dorisalee Price, who preceded him in death on March 15, 2012. He later married Carolyn Holmes, who also preceded him in death. Others preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Leanne Brattin and one son, Price Brattin and his wife Jolinda.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathy Arnold and her husband Roger of Pierce City, Missouri; one brother, JC Brattin and his wife Carolyn of Exeter, Missouri; five grandchildren, Joel Brattin and his wife Christine, Julie Knowles and her husband Graham, Joan Joseph and her husband Cris, Cody Marney and his wife Adrienne and Clint Marney; nine great grandchildren, as well as step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cecil received his education at Hazel Dell School and graduated from Wheaton High School. He was a talented automobile mechanic. He started his career in 1948, by buying and running the DX Service Station at the corner of Main Street and Highway 86 in Wheaton, Missouri. From 1951 until 1953 Cecil was a mechanic at Wheaton Barnes & Stone Chevrolet. In 1953, he worked for L.W. Hayden's Garage until building his own repair business, Wheaton Motors, in 1960. Cecil continued his business there until his retirement in 1989. He was a charter member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert and Pastor Jerry Francisco will conduct the services. Burial will be at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
