Services Monday
Funeral services were conducted for Ernest F. Byrd, of Mize, age 59, who passed away suddenly at his residence Friday, June 19.
He was born in Smith county August 4, and had lived there a lifetime.
He was a member of the Fairmount Masonic Lodge No. 384 and of the Calvary Presbyterian church.
Services were conducted Monday morning at 9:30 from the Calvary Presbyetrian church with the Rev. Eugene Reid officiating.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zera Byrd, Mize; four sons, Earl Floyd, Mize; Marion and Darrell of New Orleans; Talmage, U. S. Army, Fort Lee, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hughes, Mize; Mrs. Hazel Spell, New Orleans; step mother, Mrs. Mary Byrd, Mobile; one brother, Ocie, Louin.
Four half brothers, Rufus and Abram, Pineville, Miss.; Aaron and Jim, Vicksburg; seven half sisters, Mrs. Bell Herrington, Mt. Olive; Mrs. Lizzie Daniels, Meridian; Mrs. Lula Ammon, Louin; Mrs. Thelma Pittman, Mobile; Mrs. Hattie Spiers, New Orleans; Mrs. Everyn Lee, Pineville, Miss.; Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Causey of Jackson.
Interment was made in the Calvary Cemetery with the Mendenhall Funeral Home in charge.
