It is likely that she and Martin, Jr. met and married in Northumberland Co., PA. Martin, Sr. came to Northumberland sometime before 1781 when Martin, Jr. was age 12. It is possible that they married about 1789. Nothing at this time is known about her parentage. Since Jacob Spring is buried next to her, one possible thought is that perhaps she was a sister to him. Only three years separate them. Names of early Milton Catholic families included both German and Irish: Buoy, Caul, McGee, O'Donnell, Riffle, Avel, Fillman, Gibson, McBride, McElarney, Murphey, Schell, Shadman, Divel, Walters, Wolfinger, Yoegy, and others.
