AVON - James F. Hricovec, 57, lifelong Avon resident, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.

Born Sept. 15, 1956, in Berea, he was a 1975 graduate of Avon High School. He was retired from a carpenter with the Carpenter's Union Local 435 in Cleveland. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Avon. He was an avid Ohio State fan, but also enjoyed NASCAR, football and winemaking. Jim was also the Vice President of Second Chance, a support and resource organization for transplant recipients. He was an avid swimmer at the Avon YMCA.

Survivors are his daughters, Victoria L. Hricovec of Columbus and and Jaime L. (Chris) Jinkins of Bryan, Ohio; grandchildren, Gracie, James, and Chester; mother, Rosemarie L. (nee Bernat); brother: Joseph T. (Rebecca) Hricovec Jr.; sisters, Mary Anne (David) Jonas, Barbara A. (Ronald) Ackerman, Carolyn M. (Ronald) Luca, Dorothy A. Hugo and Christine M. (Joseph) Wood; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph T. Hricovec in 1994.

Friends will be received Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon, where closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Avon.

Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Avon.
