US Congressman. A native of Washington, D.C., he served as a Major of volunteers in the War of 1812. Elected to represent Maryland's 3rd District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1816 to 1819, and 1825 to 1827. He also served as a Member of the Maryland State House of Delegates in 1819, and 1823.
