Joseph J. Blazek, son of Joseph and Magdelena Havel Blazek, was born On October 16, 1888, southwest of Cuba, and died on July 15, 1978, at Belleville, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 29 days.
He received his education at the Silverthorne School and was united in marriage to Emma Zacek on September 26, 1911, and four children were born to this union. He lived in the Cuba Community his entire life and was engaged in farming until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; one son, William; 3 brothers, 1 sister, 6 infant sisters and brothers, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter, 2 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.
He is survived by two sons, Frank J. Blazek of Cuba, Joe Blazek of Fountain, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Milek (Helen) Kolman of Cuba, three sisters, Mrs. Lany Havel of Belleville, Mrs. Frances Lesvosky of Cuba, and Mrs. Joe (Lottie) Morton of Narka, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church of Cuba. Interment was made in National Bohemian (Kopsa) cemetery.
