Corp. George Ralston served in the 35th Illinois volunteer Union Infantry known as "G. A. Smith's Independent Regiment" He mustered in August 22, 1862 with Co. G. Rank Pvt/Corp. KIA on September 20, 1863 at the Battle of Chickamauga. Not sure exactly what grave he is in, if any. This is the closest thing I can find. According to the 35th Illinois Volunteer records, he was the only soldier in his company that died in this battle. Fallen hero. Other research shows that he may have been born in 1839
