Born January 7, 1920 in Basilga di Pine', Italy, Fred was the son of Emanuel and Orsola Dallafior Anesi. At the age of 2 and a half, Fred and his mother left Italy and arrived in America to join Fred's father who had settled in Novinger, Missouri. He married Joanna C. Fast on September 2, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri. She survives.
Fred was an active member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where he was a member of the Salem Brotherhood and Salem Couples Club. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens RSVP, a long time member of the Elks Lodge #100, and the Audubon Society. He was an avid bird watcher and took part in the Eagle Watch and several Christmas and Spring bird counts. Fred was one of four people instrumental in founding the the Gem City Rock Club. Mr. Anesi served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Anesi was employed as an electrician for Quincy Electric for 6 years and then for 24 years at Supreme Electric until his retirement in 1980. Fred had been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1947.
Surviving is his wife Joanna; one sister, Marie Cuculich of Kirksville, MO.; four nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Anesi was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in law, Frank Cuculich.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Salem Church or Good Samaritan Home.
