Ely Martin Allsup, 79, of Rt. 2, Box 993, yesterday was dead on arrival at San Joaquin General Hospital where he was taken by private ambulance after being found unconscious beside a small tractor on the Old Sperry Ranch.
Allsup, who had lived and worked on the ranch the past 30 years, went outside to start the tractor shortly before noon, according to other empoyes at the ranch. The others became suspicious when they continued to hear the tractor running in one spot. Several of them investigated and found Allsup unconscious.
Allsup's nearest relatives are a daughter in Rock Springs, Wyo., and a sister in Tulsa, Okla.
