Callie was born November 20, 1918 in Baird, Callahan County, Texas. She joins her husband Harry Carlile and beloved son Jamie in Heaven. Mrs. Carlile is survived by: six children, Mary Herndon of Paint Rock, Paul Carlile of Bryan, Tommy Carlile of Dublin, Billy Carlile of Junction, Ruth Shelton of Junction, and Charlie Carlile of Plainview; and a brother, W.L. Allen of Abilene. Granny Carlile had thirty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, but she was "Granny" to so many in Junction that we could never list them all. She loved the Lord, and she served him faithfully at First Baptist Church of Junction for many years. Granny will be missed, but she has seen Jesus, and none of us would dream of taking that from her.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23 at the First Baptist Church in Junction with Rev. Cecil Conner officiating. Burial in the Gentry Creek Cemetery will follow. Pallbearers are Alfred Gentry, Don Gartman, Larry Maddux, Joe Mac Carlile, James Raney, and Edward Raney.
God saw you were getting tired And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you And whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
