COKER A.C. Hedgepeth Jr., age 85, of Coker, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2012, at the VA Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Monticello, MS with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Boyd and Clinton Hedgepeth, Sr.; his brother, Edward Hedgepeth; his sisters, Ellen Hartzog, Mattie Lou Davis, and Ozzie Lee May; his daughter, Judy Kay Hedgepeth; and his granddaughter, GeorgAyna H. Shirley.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel D. Hedgepeth of Coker; his daughter, Barbara H. Campbell of Biloxi, MS; his brothers, Lloyd Powell of Monticello, MS, Willie J. Hedgepeth of Meridian, MS, and Clifton Hedgepeth (Ann) of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Dana H. Oswalt (Phillip) of Northport, Allyson Campbell of Oxford, MS, and Jessica Campbell of Biloxi, MS; his great-grandchildren, Lacey Hulsey, Hunter Shirley, and Presley Oswalt, all of Northport, and Kyler Campbell and Kade Campbell, both of Oxford, MS; and his great-great-grandchild, Kyla Harbin of Northport.

He was a loving husband of 64 years, a loving and devoted dad, and a great "Pap" to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He loved hunting and fishing, and his garden was the love of his life. He was known for his "big garden." He loved to share with friends and neighbors. He served in the U.S. Navy and then worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a track supervisor for 32 years. He was an active member of Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was well-loved and respected by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Scott Skelton, Robbie Leonard, Danny Pate, Jeffery Herbert, Hunter Shirley, and Buddy Mitchum.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church, friends and neighbors of Lake Robinwood, Douglas Shaver and Dr. Summerford, and Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
