Robert Earl "Rob" Clark, 47, of Carthage, passed away at 8:28 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Rob was born May 2, 1966, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Clyde and Wanda (Palmer) Clark. He graduated from Morton High School in 1984. He received his B.S. in Forestry Management from the University of Illinois in 1989 and his M.B.A. from Western Illinois University in 1999. Upon graduating from U of I, Rob went to work as a Forest Technician for the USDA Forest Service in Oregon. Rob had owned and operated Clark Forestry Consulting since 1993. He was involved in international forestry serving as the Executive Forester and Operating Manager of SRP International from 2000 to the present and was the forestry and quality consultant to Grandis Timber in Cambodia from 2009 – 2012. He also set up forestry workshops and provided tours in Southeast Asia (see website clarkforestryconsulting.com). On a national level he was the Phytosanitary Inspector for the Missouri Forest Products Association. Rob has served in the Army National Guard. He was the manager of Farm Bureau in Hancock County from 1991-1999 and was of member of the Methodist Church. He had also owned and operated RJ's Pizza in Carthage for a few years. Rob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hanging with friends and family. He especially enjoyed participating in activities with his son, Grant. Rob is survived by his son, Grant Clark of Carthage; his partner, Allison Grand of La Harpe; his mother, Wanda Clark of San Jose, Illinois; a brother, Gary (Kathy) Clark of Groveland, Illinois; a sister, Mary (Gary Hancock) Heimer of San Jose; Allison's children, Ashley and Megan Percival; four nieces, Jade and Crystal Heimer and Madison and Mollie Clark; and a nephew, Darrin Hancock. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde; and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in San Jose, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to the Rob Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
