George W. Cloud, 60, unemployed, of Coalgood was killed when struck by a Louisville and Nashville Railroad train at Verda Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
He was walking on the railroad tracks and apparently didn't see or hear the train's approach, officials said.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Jane Cloud, Verda; seven children, Mrs. George Hollars, of Coalgood where he made his home.
Robert, William and Ralph Lee, all of Tway, George Jr., U.S. Marines, Lola Cloud, Verda, and Louis Cloud, Harlan; brothers, Bill, Verda, Frank of Evarts, and Sherman, Cawood, and sister, Mrs. Betty Cook, Evarts.
Funeral service was conducted from the Verda Baptist Church today at 1 p.m., the Rev Accles Wynn officiating. Burial was in the Burkhart Cemetery. Harlan Funeral Home was in charge.
