Altabell Maude Basore, 89, died January 4, 2014 in Topeka, Kansas.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas with burial to follow in Neodesha City Cemetery.

She was born February 24, 1924 in Leroy, Kansas. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1942.
Altabell enjoyed traveling within the United States, plus Niagara Falls, Canada, Mexico, Japan(2), and Taiwan.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Independence, Kansas. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, making quilts for her children and grandchildren. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. Altabell was a homemaker and she worked as a cook at Neodesha High School in Neodesha, Kansas from 1966 -1972. She did volunteer work at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas.

She married Benjamin Harold Basore on November 21, 1943 in Neodesha, Kansas. They had four children: Bonnie, Janice, Donna and Gary.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Martz, her mother, Garnete Steele, her brother, Eugene, her husband, Benjamin Harold, a son, Gary, a daughter, Donna, two granddaughters, Carrie Basore and Tricia Mattox, and a great- grandson, Tyler Bellemare.

She is survived by her two daughters , Bonnie Basore ,Topeka, Kansas and Janice McCart (husband Ed) Lee's Summit, Missouri, daughter-in-law Ann Basore Swink, Neodesha, Kansas, eight grandchildren: Terri Gentry Ward (husband Clint) Berryton, Kansas, Shawn Gentry, Neodesha, Kansas, Jera McCart Elmore (husband Steve) Altus, Oklahoma, Jared McCart (wife Susie) Overland Park, Kansas, Jaci McCart Bellemare (husband James) San Angelo, Texas , James Mattox, Hartland, Wisconsin, Crystal Mattox Lewisville, Texas, Bryson Basore (wife Jessica) Robertsville, Missouri, and 19 great-grandchildren.
