W. Glenn Boyer, 77, of Harmar died Friday (March 28, 2003) in Harmar.

He was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Tarentum and lived in Harmar since 1958.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the Navy.

Before retiring, he was a purchaser and supplier for 35 years for the former Gulf Research and Development, Harmar.

Mr. Boyer was a member of Springdale United Methodist Church, where he was an usher, trustee and choir member, member of Springdale-Cheswick Lions Club, the Springdale Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Buffalo Golf Club.

An avid golfer, he also enjoyed other sports, outdoor activities and helping his family and other people.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elvira Louise Emanuelson Boyer; two sons, Douglas K. (Kimberly) Boyer of Parma, Ohio, and Jeffrey K. (Mary Beth) Boyer of Seven Hills, Ohio; and two daughters, Mrs. Glenna L. (Samuel) Renaldi of Springdale and Mrs. Carol B. (David) Vogel of Harmar.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Laurie (Shawn) Carey, Kelly Evans, Jennifer Kuchta, and Dallas, Mitchell, Kurt and Kraig Boyer; and a great-grandson, Samuel Glenn Carey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josiah Wilbert and Grace Laureen Best Boyer, and two brothers, John and Howard Boyer.

Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in SPRINGDALE at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Officiating will be the Rev. Edward Bailey.

Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar.

Springdale-Cheswick Lions will have a service at 7 tonight in the funeral home, followed by a Springdale VFW service at 7:30 p.m.
