Eddy Bailiff, age 58, of Knox City, died Friday, November 18, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Eddy was born January 19, 1947 in Minden, Louisiana to Laurie (Dick) Heflin Bailiff and Gladys Sawyer Bailiff. He attended Louisiana Tech for two years. He moved to Knox City in 1985 and purchased E.B. Boot and Saddle Shop in which, until the time of his death, he operated. Eddy was a shoe cobbler by trade and also a leather tooler, but always a cowboy at heart. He married Betty Hodges Acree on August 30, 1984 in Minden, Louisiana. He was also a clerk for Osborne's Farm and Ranch Coop.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Knox City, Son William and wife Tara Acree of Fort Carson, Colorado, and son Jeffery Acree of Knox City: Two grandchildren Eddi Acree and Marina Acree of Ft. Carson Colorado, Two sisters, Mary Lane and Billy Gray of Louisiana, JoAnn and Alva Roy Lary of Montgomery, Louisiana; and a sister-in-law Janet Bailiff of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jim Bailiff.

Arrangements are being handled by Mansell-Smith Funeral Home, Knox City.

Funeral service will be at O'Brien Baptist Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2005, Reverend Paul Chambers and Reverend John Gillispie officiating. Interment will be at Knox City Cemetery in Knox City.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
