Loyd M. Turnipseede, 88, passed away January 31, 2014. He was born September 16, 1925 to Jasper David and Roberta Beard Turnipseede in Falls County, Texas. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII and participated in the atomic bomb testing. While living in Ingleside he was Mayor Protem, Police Commissioner and served on the Ingleside ISD school board. He was a member of the Ingleside Masonic Lodge, Shriner and Scottish Rite and was very active in the Little League Baseball. He retired from Reynolds Metals and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odem.

He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, two sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Mable Turnipseede of Portland; son, Bob Turnipseede (Vera) of Hutto, Texas; daughters, Ann Blankenship (David) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cheryl Mercer (Bill) of Crown Point, Indiana; sister, Artie DeHart of Kingwood, Texas; 6 grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 307 W. Turner, Odem, Texas 78370. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Nixon Cemetery in Nixon, Texas
