Noveline Ackerman Davis Cloaninger, 93, widow of Blen Joe Davis and James Manning Cloaninger, died Thursday, January 30, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Cloaninger was born in Andrews, a daughter of the late William Hinson Ackerman and Frances Mae Cox Ackerman.

She grew up in the Earle community of Williamsburg County and graduated from Williamsburg High School. Mrs. Cloaninger received her associate's degree in cosmetology, and owned and operated her own beauty shop for over 60 years.

The last of nine brothers and sisters, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Cloaninger was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church in Eastover.

She was survived by a daughter, Joan Davis (Landrum) McDaniel of Johnsonville; a granddaughter, Kateland McDaniel of Johnsonville; and several nieces and nephews, including Jay Ackerman of Columbia, who was like a son to Mrs. Cloaninger.

Funeral services were Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Earles United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bob Huggins and the Rev. Gray Adams officiated. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Harmony Cemetery.
