Mrs. F.M. Enright Died Wednesday

This community was shocked and saddened by the death Wednesday of Mrs. F.M. Enright, long a resident of the city. Her passing was entirely unexpected and word of same coming just as we go to press, gives no opportunity to print an obituary in this issue, but one will appear in these columns next week.

Burial will be from St. Mary's Church in Dell Rapids at funeral Low mass at 9:00 AM Saturday, September 19, with interment to be in the Catholic Cemetery in Elkton, childhood home of the deceased.

Mrs. F. M. Enright Funeral Saturday

The following is an obituary of Mrs. Frank C. Enright:

Marian, daughter of Chauncey P. Adelia Meade Young was born at Columbus, Wisconsin, October 6, 1883, and died September 16, 1936, at Dell Rapids.

At the age of four she came to South Dakota with her parents located on a homestead near Elkton. It was in this community she grew to womanhood, completing the grade and high school courses of the Elkton public-school and continuing her education at Eastern State Teachers College at Madison. She taught school in the rural schools of her home community several years.

On April 23, 1906, at Elkton occurred the marriage of Marian Young and Frank M. Enright in the first years of the married life were spent Elkton. Business interest took them to Mitchell for a short time and later to Bushnell, South Dakota following the World War, Mr. and Mrs. Enright located at Salem, thence coming to Dell Rapids in 1920. There active interest in civic affairs have made them valued members of the community.

A devout member of the Catholic Church, Mrs. Enright worked in St. Mary's alter society and served as its president for several years. She was very active in the work of American Legion auxiliary and was a member of the Dell Rapids women's club.

Her parents having preceded her in death, she is survived by her husband, a brother, Marvin E. Young, of Muscatine Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. A.D. Colman, Redfield, Mrs D.H. Roberts, Ashton and Mrs. C.T. Coyne of Emery and leaves to her many friends the memory of a generous character, devoted to true charity.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 19, at St. Mary's Church in Dell Rapids, the Requiem High Mass being song by Rev. C.C. Boley. Interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery at Elkton, with committal rites conducted by Rev. W.F. Shean and Rev. F.L.. Durkin. Pallbearers were: W.F. Voy, Ed Schmidt, Charles Trainor of Dell Rapids; S.E. Anderson, Robert Thraen of Sioux Falls and Matt Mahowald of Elkton.

Those in attendance from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Colman and Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Colman of Redfield; Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Roberts of Ashton; Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Young of Muscatine, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Young and Mrs. Marvin Potter of Rapid City; C.P. Coyne, Betty, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Curtin and Eva Coyne of Emery; Mrs. Elizabeth Enright and daughter Gertrude of Rochester, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Enright and daughter of Brookings; Mr. and Mrs. Phil Enright of Sioux Falls; Irene and James Falvey of Hastings, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Coyne, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Coyne, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Coyne and Mrs. Anna Clark of Ethan.
