Betty June Woodson

The funeral service for homemaker and former sewing factory worker Betty June Woodson of Springville will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Freddie McDaniel will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery between Como and Cottage Grove.

Selected as pallbearers are Lonnie Forrest, Stanley Tims, James Taylor, Edward Bush, James Moore and Terry Barnhill.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Sunday.

Woodson, 78, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Henry County Medical Center.

Born June 19, 1935, in Sharon, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Carroll and Margaret Hall Carroll Wooten.

She was married on Feb. 28, 1992, to Bennie Woodson, who died Dec. 9, 1999.

Woodson worked at WSW Sewing Factory in Sharon for several years. At her death, she was serving her sixth term as the president of 8th District VFW Auxiliary. A family member said she loved to quilt, enjoyed canning and loved her family.

She leaves five daughters: Pamela Jean (David) Everett of Buchanan, Susan Gail (James) Kinney of Cottage Grove, Tommie Diane Wallett of Louisville, Ky., Vickie Lynn Carlton and special friend Allen Nevil of Martin and Jammi Evelyn Haun and special friend Chris Sagari of Clinton;

One stepson: Jerry Gean Woodson of Springville; two sisters: Patricia Hopper and Francis Kay Conzemius, both of McKenzie; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Lee Tims; a son: Allan Robert Hart; and a brother: Robert Gean Carroll.
