Lewis Laynon Blue, 77, a life resident of the Covington area, died Sunday, Dec. 1, in Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Danville, where he was admitted three days earlier. Funeral services were held a 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial took place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Born Aug. 31, 1886, in Fountain County, he was the son of Richard H. and Mary Josephine Hickman Blue. He was married to Mabel Tittle. He had been employed as a laborer in saw mills and gravel pits in the area.

Survivors include two brothers, William of Hillsdale and Sam of Danville and a sister, Mrs. Della Bruce of Danville. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
