Margaret Virginia Kelly Alcorn, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Raleigh Court Nursing Home. Margaret was born September 29, 1926 in Troutville and lived in the area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late George Edward and Sarah Lina Camden Kelly.

Margaret loved to crochet and quilt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert E. Alcorn; sons and stepson, George Ashe, Virgil Ashe, and Robert Alcorn. Margaret is survived by her children Calvin E. Ashe, Jr. (Alita Ashe) of Roanoke and Norma Rye of Blue Ridge; step children Jerry Alcorn and Virginia Koger both of Bedford, and Ramona (Bobby) Wimmer of Wirtz; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and special friends.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. A graveside service honoring Margaret's life will follow immediately at Sherwood Memorial Park, 1250 East Main Street, Salem with Reverend Adam McDaniel officiating.
