Franklin Evening News/News-Herald, Thursday, Oct 16 1890:

Frank Boals of Bully Hill, 30, died at 8 am today, Oct. 16. He was a son of Gordon Boals.


His illness was not long, as he was in Franklin as recently as Friday last. The disease was typho-malarial fever, with brain complications. He was an excellent man of exemplary habits, and was highly esteemed in the community.


About two years ago he married Miss Mary Likens of Franklin, who survives. They had no children.

Typhoid and typhoid-malarial fever has been keeping the doctors busy for some time past, and several serious cases are reported. The latest death from this disease is that of Frank Boals, 30, of Bully Hill, who died at the home of his father, Gordon Boals. He has been married two years, but has no children. The young man's death is deeply felt by a large circle of friends and acquaintances, as his manly conduct and exemplary habits had endeared him to all with whom he came in contact.
