Gertrude E. Richter, 93, of Sunman, Indiana died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her residence.
She was born October 26, 1916 in Franklin County, Indiana to Oliver and Ida (Zimmer) Baas. She married Ralph L. Richter on September 21, 1940 in Batesville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2005.
She was retired from Naas foods. She particularly enjoyed gardening and flowers, watching humming birds, and playing bingo.
Survivors include three Children, Donna McCool and Roger Richter, both of Sunman, and Gayle Richter of Brookville; 10 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph L. Richter; her parents; and 10 siblings.
The visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 PM also at the Funeral Home. Kerry D. Owen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephens Lutheran Cemetery in Spades, near Sunman, Indiana. Pallbearers will be Mike Dudley, Rick Dudley, Gary Richter, Tommy Burns, Doug Burns, and Mark Sturwold.
