Roberta was born on May 12th, 1930 in Muleshoe, Texas to Clarence Haskew and Ollie Belle (McCaslin) Haskew. She graduated from high school in Portales, New Mexico and married Lee Cargill on September 9th, 1949 in Pampa, Texas. They lived in Texas and later California, where Bertie worked as a switchboard operator of the Kaiser Hospital. They came to Johnston County in 1975 and she worked as the office manager for the City of Tishomingo Water Department, from which she retired after 25 years of service. Roberta was also an active member of the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband Lee, of the home; her daughter, Sharon Hill and husband J. L., of Friendswood, Texas; her son, Brett Cargill of Lancaster, California; grandchildren, Leeann Crabtree of Perth, Austrailia, Leslee Hardin of San Diego, California, Candace Cargill of New York, New York and Cole Cargill of Edward Air Force Base, California; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
