Former local woman dies

Mrs. Gertrude Van Schoiack, a former resident of Sunnyside, died at the age of 77 on June 5 in Spokane, where she had resided for four years.
She was born June 7, 1893 in Oklahoma and came to Sunnyside in 1943 from Kansas.
Services were held at the Gothic Chapel in Spokane. The Rev. C. L. Hobson of Richland officiated. Interment was at the Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake. She was buried beside her husband, Arthur.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eva Nelson and five sons, Lon Bedwell, Arkansas City, Kan.; Melvin Moore, Gleed; Burton Brown, Hayward, Calif.; and Dean and Jack Moore, Calif. Also, she had one sister, Mrs. Faye Phipps, Sunnyside and 15 grandchildren.
She was a member of the Christian Church and the Rebecca Lodge.
Among those attending from Sunnyside were Mrs. Lily King, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Richards and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Phipps.
