Fracture of Hip Proves Fatal to Woman at Culver Hospital

Miss Susan Flora Deer, 71, died at Culver hospital Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock following an illness of two weeks. Death was due to complications arising from a fractured hip.

The deceased was born in Missouri on March 26, 1860, the daughter of Edmund and Mary Deer. She was never married. The deceased had spent most of her life in Parke and Montgomery counties and had a large acquaintance.

The survivors are three brothers, Garnett Deer, of Veedersburg, John Deer, of Bloomington, and Joel Deer, of Terre Haute, and two sisters, Mrs. Sina Banta, of Covington, and Mrs. Mary Wilkinson, of Bloomington.

The funeral services will be held at the Old Union Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will take place in the Old Union cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Wednesday afternoon from 1 o'clock until time of the funeral.
