THE PARIS NEWS, SUNDAY, JANUARY 26, 2014, PAGE A3 - Dorothy Mae Holland, 79, of Taylortown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Heritage House of Paris. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. L. C. Stout officiating. Private burial will be made in Union Cemetery at Taylortown.

Dorothy, the daughter of C. T. and Lillie Mae Norman Leatherwood, was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Parker County. She graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth. On March 18, 1955, she married Ben Holland, building 58 years of family and memories. From 1955-1960, she worked at Westinghouse and then worked side by side with Ben on their farm and ranch at Taylortown. From 1994-2014, she had been the office manager at Paris Florist. She was the election judge at Taylortown for many years. Dorothy was an accomplished pianist and violinist. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chandler Jane Russell; her parents; and a brother-in-law, J D Polk.

Survivors include her husband, Ben; three children, Benjamin Holland, Melody Jane Holland Horton and husband, Danny and Laura Benette Holland Russell and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Holland Graham Russell, Hayden Barkley Dunn Russell, Garrett Horton and wife, Raynie and Hannah Horton; great-grandchildren, Bryer, Garrison and Derringer Horton; a sister-in-law, Jane Holland Polk; a niece, Brenda Polk Watson; along with a plethora of friends.
