Mr. Abrego was born August 19, 1925 to Cleofas and Juanita (Charles) Abrego in Sabinas, Mexico, but had lived most of his life in Carrizo Springs. He had been a migrant worker for much of his life and had worked for the City of Carrizo Springs for 8-10 years before his retirement. He was the widow of the late Eufemia Abrego who preceded him in death in 1994. He died the previous Tuesday at the Doctors Hospital in Laredo at the age of 75.
He is survived by two daughters, Dolores (and Charles) Winn of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Alejandra (and Antonio Silva) Rodriquez of San Antonio; and eight grandchildren, Justin (and Fracis) Rouse, Joshua Rouse, Christopher Winn, Michael Winn, Naomi Roderiquez, Stephanie Rodriquez, Nicole Rodriquez, and Steven Rodriquez; and two great-grandchildren, Justin Luis Rouse II, and Antonio Mann. Mumerous other relatives also survive.
Fr. John VanLare was the celebrant for the Requiem Mass and burial was in Guadalupe Cemetery in Carrizo Springs under the direction of the Leonard Funeral Home.
