Lawrence Antisdel died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his home. He was born November 6, 1911 in Adams County, Iowa to Clara Belle (Kirkpatrick) Antisdel and Lynn Wells Antisdel.

On November 7, 1934 he was united in marriage to Opal E. (Johnston) in Adams, Co., Iowa. They farmed all of their married life in Adams County. After retiring, he enjoyed going to auctions and to sporting events for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Cromwell and area card clubs through the years.

Survivors include a daughter: Cathryn Holker of Creston; three sons: Jack (wife Colleen) Antisdel of Creston; Ray (wife Shari) Antisdel of Tipton, Ia.; Bill (wife Jan) Antisdel of Ankeny; Sister Bernice (husband Paul) Downing of Creston three sisters-in-law Jackie Johnston of Davenport, Ia., Beulah Antisdel of Calif. and Joyce (husband Jack) Bailiff of La Porte City, Ia.; 18 grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and thirty great-great-grandchildren; a close friend Carol Scarberry and daily companion Misty the dog, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Opal in 2004; granddaughter: Pearl Conard; brother: Lyle Antisdel; sister: Bonnie Blazek; two sisters-in-laws; Margie Richie and Lola Johnston.
