Historian. Henry was 1929 graduate of Albion High School, and a 1933 graduate of Albion College. He taught history at Albion high school from 1933 to 1937, and then moved to Ann Arbor to become a research assistant at the University of Michigan history department. Henry later became curator of the Michigan Historical Collections at the University of Michigan, and held that post until 1942. He was director of the Michigan Historical Society in 1941 and 1942. Following a succesful stint in the service during World War II, Henry became assistant director of the Detroit Historical Museum in 1946, and the following year was named its director and coordinator. He held that position until his death. Locally in Albion, Henry helped tremendously in the 1935 Centennial Celebration. His numerous local history articles were published in the local newspaper. He contributed much to the preservation of Albion history through the years. Henry was awarded an honorary "Doctors of Laws" degree from Albion College in 1962.
