MRS. GEORGE KELLISON

Bertha Matilda Hagemeier was born at Waukon, Iowa, May 30th, 1866. She came to Valley county in February 1886 and was united in marriage to Geo. A. Kellison July 18th of the same year. To this union five children were given to bless the home, two of them preceding her to the other world. Some twelve years ago she, with her husband, moved to Ord, where they resided until about two years ago when they moved to Sterling, Colorado, where she resided at the time of her death. Her health failed her some seven years ago and since then she has been an invalid. Sometimes the suffering was intense, but thru it all she bore it cheerfully and patiently thus exemplifying in the body the spirit of Him of whom the prophet spoke, “He was led as a lamb to the slaughter yet He opened not His mouth” But why should she not exemplify such a spirit when for more than forty years she had been a follower of Him who said, “It is I be not afraid. In my Father's house are many mansions.” When but a child of about 15 years of age she gave her life to the church, joining the Evangelical church in Iowa. When she came to Valley county; the same year she transferred to the Midvale United Brethren church, where she retained her membership until February 13, 1921, when she transferred to the Presbyterian church at Sterling, Colorado, where she belonged at the time of her death, May 3, 1922. Her husband and three children, Orin Kellison of Ord, Nora Bell Berrier and George L.
