Sybil Ann Lybbert Hill, 73, died Thursday, April 4, 2005, at Garden Oasis Assisted Living in Ephrata. She was born on August 29, 1931, to Aarus Elmer and Stella Fern (Bergeson) Warren, the seventh of nine children in Moreland, Idaho. She attended school and grew up in Blackfoot and Pocatello, Idaho.
She was a telephone operator in Pocatello at the age of 14 years. On January 2, 1949, she married Ted Carringer. They had three sons together. They later divorced. On November 19, 1959, she married C.F. Bernard Lybbert in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. They farmed and ranched in Moses Lake, Moses Coulee, and Deer Park. She primarily was a homemaker, but drove a family owned school bus transporting family members to the Waterville School District. She was also later employed as a nurse at Deer Park Hospital. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions, including as a young women's leader and is remembered for many fun girls' camp outings. She also loved to play women's softball. She loved to entertain, write poetry, and dress up and act for the children, making every day a holiday.
She is survived by five sons, Teddy and Richard Lybbert, both of Idaho, Rober (Marilyn) Lybbert and Scott (Janet) Lybbert, both of Quincy and Todd (Rene') Lybbert of Ephrata; seven step-children, Garth (Dewey) Lybbert of Hayden, Idaho, Kay (Norma) Lybbert of Warden, Thelma (Clinton) Law of Glenwood, Alberta, Canada, and Betty-Jean (Michael) Bilanzich of Salt Lake City, Utah, DeWayne Hill of Nampa, Idaho, Gelene Rodabeck of Long View, and Linda Zirker of Mattawa; two brothers, DeVon Warren of Conner, Montana, and Lavar Warren of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Verda Merkley and Colleen Thompson, both of Kennewick; 38 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ted Carringer, her second husband, C.F. Bernard Lybbert, and her third husband, Dorward Hill; three brothers, Amos, Norris, and Velton Warren; a sister, Delpha Kowalis; a step-son, Rex Lybbert; and a step-daughter, LaDean Fletcher.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 18, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1301 Division Avenue East in Ephrata. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. with services at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Alan Bowman will officiate.
